Microchipping

It’s always sad to hear of families who have lost their beloved fur babies. That’s why we want to ensure ALL pets are microchipped. We also recommend you have an ID tag attached to your pet’s collar, as this can speed up the lost and found process.

Microchipping at our practice is a very safe procedure involving the insertion of a chip, approximately the size of a grain of rice, under the skin at the back of their neck. With a special scanner, a vet can identify a pet that has been brought into the clinic, and it can be rapidly reunited with its owner.

It is vital that you always keep your details on your pets microchip up to date.
Microchip details are no good if the phone number is disconnected or you’ve moved house!

If you know your pet’s microchip number, click here to find out which register their details are on, or visit us today so we can scan your pet’s microchip and point you in the right direction.

If your pet is lost, they can’t phone home. However, if your pet is microchipped (and the details are up to date) then someone else might be able to phone home for them!
